Damaged Bear Warning Sign, 6/10
As you probably know there is plenty of bear activity in the park this spring. Park Service Rangers tell me that this sign was chewed up by a curious bear. Oh the irony! I hope you have the opportunity to educate someone about reducing bear interactions in the Smokies. The best piece of advice I have heard given to an uneducated hiker is, "A fed bear is a dead bear."

Hiking through the Rhododendron In The Smokies, 6/10
I'm very grateful to be able to enjoy spring in the Smokies. We have a nice mix of rain and sunshine this spring that has inspired an explosion of growth. We have the Fire Flys in Elkmont next week and the Flame Azalias the middle of the month on Grogory Bald in Cades Cove. I hope that you will be able to enjoy at least one of those two events. The Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel will put on a show throughout the park all through the month.

Mountain Laurel In Bloom, 6/10
Welcome to June my friends! What a beautiful welcome the Mountain Laurel gives us! June is a wonderful time in the Smokies. I hope you are able to enjoy it. From flowers to fire flys, the Mountains are alive this spring.
June is Action month! For me to change my Attitude, I have to change my Actions. If I am in positive, healthy Action I will be in a positive, healthy Attitude.
