Hi Doug: I've simply got to get up onto Mt. LeConte sometime next winter for some snow hiking; yes, the serenity is a wonderful thing, perhaps a major part of the reason I love the lodge so much; Not far off until April 4th; only thing I worry about is Rt 441 being closed ! Wouldn't know how I'd get to the Alum Cave parking lot; Surely the weather that day will be favorable. I guess you folks are really busy this week; sure wish I could come over and help, but duties keep me here in this engineering office. Have a good week. D.Y.

Hey Doug,
As I sit here awaiting my Rhodedendron blossoms to burst forth (I know it is way early) with color, I can tell that you must have this wish too as those flowers are so pretty in your part of the country too. Thanks for your blog. It splashes my day with joy.

Hello,Doug! I love your new blog.I have been visiting the new Leconte Lodge blog as well as yours.I like them both so much.I look forward to seeing the new photos every night and dreaming about what it would be like to actually be up on top of that mountain, hidden away in a cozy cabin just watching the world go by.Thanks again for doing a great job with your blog.

I have enjoyed the Winter Wonderland in the Smokies these last few months. The green leaves and wildflowers will return soon enough. I'm enjoying your new site. Anxiously awaiting the clearing of I-40W so I can travel to Gatlinburg!
