Spring Snow In The Fir Trees, 4/10
A nasty day yesterday left us beautiful spring snow in the Smokies.  The higher elevations of the Smokies saw first rain, then sleet, hail and finally snow.  We have been expecting a spring snow and we may see another before winter finally loosens it's grip.  As this snow melts with the sun this week we will see some beautiful flowers coming out in the mountains.

Hi Doug

How much snow fall did you get? Was there snow on the ground from this winter?

I have a group of beginner hikers coming up with me Sat, May 8th. We are hiking Alum Cave Trail. I think it may take us 3 maybe 4 hours. Some of them have never hiked & some it's been a decade or longer. I am so excited to inspire them. I will confirm with Lodge about bag lunches. Some want to go out to Cliff Tops & Myrtle Point. Hope you and Millie can join us.

Take care and stay warm!

Have to admit that the late spring snows do make for some awesome photo opportunites.

Snow the last of April is so weird. But I bet it was beautiful.
