Reflections Of The Smokies

Early Yellow Violet On The Bull Head Trail, 4/10
Spring is bursting to life as quickly as the snow melts.  This photo really told me a story of how the sun warms the earth in spring bringing life from the decay of winter.  This is a spot that was covered with a few feet of snow just a couple weeks before and already coming to life.  It's a wonderful time to get out and enjoy the coming of spring.

This is the first time I've seen the yellow ones! We have the blue and purple violets in our yard. But I'd give anything to have a sea of all the colors! Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

What a nice splash of color after all the snow on the mountain.

This is called Round-leafed Yellow Violet, it blooms very early. The Smokies have an incredible variety of violets, I saw several today (4-18).
