Reflections Of The Smokies

View Of Cliff Tops From The Alum Cave Trail, Mt. LeConte, 7/10
I have enjoyed this view many times and I am always humbled by it.  I have found that balance is more important to me today than ever before.  Nothing gives balance to life like humility.  I'm not a real humble person.  But I have found that in seeking humility I have a lot of peace in my life.  When I take in a view like this one on  a clear day I am filled with a genuine humility.

Humbling is a good word--to me, the Mountains are as close to God as I'l get, until that given time!!
Most peaceful, and mind clearing place on the planet for me!

Doug,we did the hike on the 10th, It is a struggle by times but I always get excited at the bluffs knowing that I will soon be on the top. It renews my inner soul to do this hike and the feeling stays till next time. The view you took always amazes me that we have that far to go to get there. Huggins hell is my least favorite of the hike. Looked for you on top and someone said you may have been on your way up, Seen your Millie but sorry to have missed you.
