Wow! This is the first time I ever even THOUGHT of questioning your musings, but here goes. . .What does the Love Vine contribute to the relationship? I'm thinking there ought to be synergy, or possibly mutual dependence, but it appears that the Love Vine is parasitic. Run, Berry, Run! Oh, roots! Rats!
Caught in a trap. I can't walk out, because you love me so much baby.
Love hurts?
Please tell be that there is something in it for the blackberries. Perhaps bears don't eat entwined blackberries, or the love vine attracts bees or. . .something!
Keep up the musings!

Wow, thanks for the knowledge on this plant. It's quite amazing!
Some thoughts: This plant doesn't actually HARM the plant that it entangles, does it? If that's true, I think it's a fine relationship for both. It's okay to provide something for another, as long as it doesn't do you harm!

Thank you so much for what you do. I and my family hold a dear love of the Tennessee mountains. Your pictures have brought back so many memories for myself. My favorite time in the Smokies was always when late summer began to give way to fall. I look forward to watching the change on your blog as we can no longer go for ourselves. Thanks again for the wornderful work you do and stay safe up there.
