Reflections Of The Smokies

Grass-Of-Parnassus, 8/10, Mt. LeConte
It is a rare and beautiful sight to see the Grass-Of Parnassus.  There is quite a bit of it blooming on LeConte in the highland drainages.
It takes a lot of work to get to a place where you can enjoy this bloom.  It is a personal accomplishment to get to see a rare flower or bird or view.  The work is worth it though.

Very nice photo of Grass-of-Parnassus bloom ! I don't think I've ever seen or heard of this flower before. One of my old hobbies is close-up photography, particularly blooms and insects, but I've not done much with this activity in a while, although I've renewed my interest in it. I have a few initial photos of some close-up shots, but without a tripod my focus is poor. Thanks for your photo. Enjoyed it.

Is that what that pretty white flower is called? There were whole walls of them last weekend on Boulevard on the way to the lodge. Thanks for the info. And it was nice to meet you in person too... I was part of the group of 16 that recognized and greeted you.
